Plan Ahead

Look Around

Start to think about what you do not want to move.  A quick garage sale is always a good idea if you haven’t downsized recently to help with your moving costs or a donation to friends and charitable organizations are always welcomed.

Places To Notify

Four weeks prior to moving day, notify the post office of your move.  You can do this at your local post office or there is an online Change of Address form at the usps website.

Utilities: Cable/Satellite Provider – Electric – Gas – Water – Trash Pickup - Telephone

Personal: Auto Finance Company – Lawn Service – Banks - Credit Card Companies – Health Clubs

Professional Services: Doctors – Dentists – Lawyers - Accountants – Insurance Agents

Government Offices: Department of Motor Vehicles – Social Security Administration – State/Federal Tax Bureaus – Veteran’s Administration

Publications: Newspapers – Magazines - Periodicals
